Rio Grande, on horseback in the pampas
Rio Grande is located in the southernmost state of Brazil, a land of pampas dedicated exclusively to the breeding of cattle.
Even though the land has been reorganized for the soya agriculture, the locals keep calling themselves “gauchos” in honor of the cowboys and herdsmen of times past.
In the countryside, they still wear their hats and traditional garments. The “churrasco” grilled meat is the local delicacy, and the “chimarrão”, a beverage made from the infusion of “maté” leaves, is the faithful companion for any hour of the day.
